Idiotic (aka Jackass) Reply of the Millennium

Written on May 24, 2007

Okay, the other day I had sent a very positive review on a story that I thought was very good and funny. This is the reply I received:

Well, thank you for the review. Honestly, I'm surprised more people
haven't read it. It's so utterly amazing.

I read every one of your stories and I hated every moment of it. I
think you should never write again. I went as far as to print off each copy
and burn it. Then I pissed on the ashes. You should not write things.
EVER.

P.S.-"Constrictive" criticism is (twitch) odd. And your pen name blows.

Whoa… how missed up is that?    Seriously, who wouldn’t be pissed off by getting a reply like that? I was the first review on a short story that was very good, and they turn around and insult MY work!

Okay, I don’t claim to be William Shakespeare or J.K. Rowling; but if I was I’d be publishing my work and be making thousands of dollars right now, not be on a site like this! But I don’t think I deserve that kind of reply, nobody does. Out of both my accounts on FF and FP, I only sent one negative review, and it was a heck of a lot more civilized than that!

If they think that I’m going to sit on the couch all day long, eating Bon Bons and crying about how much people hate me, they are sadly mistaken. I write because I love to, even though I’m not the greatest writer. I also want people to give me an input on how to improve my writing, as well as a way to get these plot bunnies out of my head! These are exactly what these websites are for. If you don’t like that, why are you here?

Also, it’s called ‘Constructive Criticism,’ not constrictive. Constructive Criticism is when you tell the person "I like your story, but here is a way to improve it…" and so forth. We’d say that a lot at my High School. Even here I see a lot of people use that because they are sick of jerks like this one!

Lastly, pen names are supposed to be stupid, funny, confusing, or completely insane! It makes it more fun! Besides, I’ve seen stupider pen names than BookFan06! I picked BookFan06 because I’m a FAN of BOOKS and I made the account in 2006. Get it? Good. As a matter of fact, the person who sent me this reply had a much stupider pen name. So who is calling the kettle black? They had no room to talk!

Wow, now that I have that off my chest, I feel so much better! I don’t want to say who sent me this reply, but if you really want to know, send me an email and I‘ll tell you the pen name and the story I reviewed. My e-mail is tbr_brnd@yahoo.com. I still have that story in my favs, but I don’t have the user in my favs, and I have blocked them from my account for obvious reasons.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and let me to blow off some steam, I needed to do this!
